The city of Vinnitsa is well known and thoroughly documented as a hub of Jewish living throughout the last few hundred years. Before the rise of communism that swept Ukraine and sullied the face of the Jew in many of its cities, hundreds of thousands of Frum Jewish families called Vinnitsa home.
When the Iron Curtain collapsed, the offshoots of that prior glory began sprouting up all throughout Ukraine. In Vinnitsa, courageous Jews and selfless activists watered that delicate regrowth and gradually returned the area to a garden of Yiddishkeit.
Following the successful completion of a brand new Mikvah in the center of town, Rabbi Horowitz reported a wave of positive change. Hundreds of Jewish families now proudly adhere to the laws of Tahara, and there’s a growing influx of spiritually reawakened Jews from a number of neighboring cities.
